Objective:

To familiarize students with the economical aspects of exploitation of various aeronautical structures during their life-cycle, starting from the introduction on the market; to give students, through the practical examples, the overview of the methodology applied in today’s airlines.

 

Description:

  • Commercial value of the new airplane and new engine
  • Market value of the used airplane and engine
  • Airplane, engine and components maintenance contracts – Entry of the new airplane type in the fleet; Different contracts types (Time and material vs. flight by hour); pool concept; TTS
  • Airplane purchase – purchasing new airplane (technical characteristics and other factors); influence of the financing conditions on the airplane maintenance
  • Selling of the used airplane – technical documentation necessary at the airplane delivery
  • Airplane / engine lease – overview of the companies dealing with airplane leasing
  • Airplane / engine lease - overview of the companies dealing with engine leasing
  • Types of airplane/engine leasing – Financial vs. operational leasing; short term vs. long term
  • Types of airplane/engine leasing – wet vs. dry; Leasing contract as a way of securing spare engine (“GAF” Guarantee Access Fee)
  • Leasing contracts – contracts signed at airplane or engine lease in the role of lessor
  • Leasing contracts – contracts signed at airplane or engine leasing in the role of lesee; delivery documents, fulfilment of contract exit obligations “return condition”
  • After market of airplane parts. Used airplane and engine parts market
  • After market of airplane parts – PMA parts and their influence on the contracts; Airbus program “Pamela”
